Mughal thought Maharana was dead and they have conquered Mewar. Udaipur was under Mughal flag under puppet kingship of Jagmal. Maharana Pratap saved his family but till that time palace was captured by traitor Jagmal. Maharana Pratap moved to Udaipur and there came the legendary jump of Chetak approximately 27feet. Veer Jhala was killed by Mughal's they thought they killed Maharana Pratap and battle come to an end with an unclear result. To confuse Mughal's Veer Jhala dressed liked Maharana Pratap and start fighting. Due to this Maharana Pratap had to leave battleground and go to Udaipur. Than a bad news came from Udaipur that stepbrother of Maharana Pratap, Kunwar Jagmal along with Mughals attacked Udaipur. Maharana Pratap attacked Man Singh with a spear he survived but fall down of his elephant than his soldiers took him away. There was a fierce battle between them Maharana on Chetak was killing Mughals like ants and also cut a minister of Akbar Bahlol khan in two pieces with horse. Maharana Pratap's army was winning and Akbar's army started to run backward but in overconfidence of win Rajput's followed them for 3 to 4 km but they left Haldighati in that chase and were in front of a large Mughal army in an open ground. Haldighati is a hilly region with narrow paths in between so Maharana Pratap used guerrilla warfare technique. He went to Haldighati with army of Rajput and Bhils. Maharana Pratap decided to stop them there. In between there was a hilly region known as Haldighati. In 1576 Akbar's army led by Man Singh moved towards Udaipur. When Rana Uday Singh died on Maharana Pratap become king. When Udaipur began to prosper Maharana Pratap think of attacking Mughal Empire But Rana Uday Singh refused and said there nation has seen prosperity after so many years he did want people again to see a war. After many years of hard work they shifted there capital to Udaipur. When Akbar entered the fort 30000 civilians were killed for no reason.Īfter losing Chittorgarh Maharana Pratap was very sad but decided to built a strong empire and fight against Akbar. 8000 soldiers killed 25000 soldiers of Akbar's army but battle was won by Mughal army and they sieged Chittorgarh. Next day Saka happened even Akbar was shocked to see their bravery. Since Maharana Pratap was there last hope to reunite kingdom ministers made him unconscious and send him out of fort. Everyone requested Maharana Pratap to leave Chittorgarh but he was firm in decision to fight against Mughals. When food grains finished they decided to do Saka( All women will do Johar and men will wear saffron clothes and go for there last fight for country). Now Chittorgarh was under consideration of Jaimal Rathore and prince Pratap. In order to protect royal family and maintain empire, Rana Uday Singh was suggested to leave Chittorgarh by his ministers he refused, but when situation start depleting he left Chittorgarh with family. Akbar stopped ingoing of food material inside Chittorgarh fort. Peasants were allowed to live in fort to protect themselves from Mughal army. Forces led by Akbar surrounded and besieged 8000 Rajput's and 40000 peasants. Siege of Chittorgarh was a part of campaign of Mughal Emperor Akbar against kingdom of Mewar in 1567. He learned art of Guerrilla warfare from Bhils. As he grew up he had friends from all different castes and tribal groups.
